This is a list of notable events where transgender people are known to have died at the hands of others. Worldwide, one transgender person is murdered every three days.
The list does not include deaths by suicide, accident, and other causes and does not imply all these deaths were attributed to trans-phobic motivations, many are still under investigation.
==1988==
* Venus Xtravaganza was strangled to death in New York City on 21 December. Her body was found four days later shoved under a hotel bed.
